Only found in Shimane and Yamaguchi Prefectures, this flower lives on the rocky coasts and roadsides of all four Oki Islands.

Continental plant. This plant is found on rocky coasts and cliffs along the Sea of Japan coastline from Shimane to Yamaguchi Prefecture, in Kyushu Island, and on the Korean Peninsula up to the Ussuri River around the Russia-China border.

This plant is commonly found in all of the islands, in particular Chiburijima Island. It lives on rocky coasts and more rarely on rocky outcrops and roadside slopes in inland areas. It is also found in parts of the Sea of Japan coast in Tottori, Hyogo and Kyoto Prefectures.

Cold region plant. This plant is found in Hokkaido, Honshu. Shikoku and Kyushu Islands from flat plains to mountainous areas.
