About Survey Permit Application

Field Survey Process

    Inquiry & Consultation

    After the consultation about your research plans, the Management Bureau will provide local information as needed, and introduce you to the necessary procedures and institutions.
    If you think you need to apply for a permit, go to Step 2: "Introduction of related organizations." If you do not need to apply for a permit, proceed to Step 4: "Field survey."

    Introduction of related organizations (in case obtaining a permit is necessary)

    Obtaining a permit might be necessary, depending on the survey site and survey contents. In that case, we will introduce you to the relevant organizations, such as the Ministry of the Environment, Boards of Education on the islands, etc.

    Introduction of applications and permits (in case obtaining a permit is necessary)

    The required time differs depending on the organization in charge of the permit and the contents of the application. Approximate time is 1 to 3 months.

    Field survey

    If necessary, we will introduce the current road conditions and connect you with the local guides.

  • 5

    Submission of final report

    It is necessary to submit a final report to the institution you applied to after completing the survey (after expiration of the permit term).

We ask that you contact us when you publish a paper, etc., after your survey in the Oki Islands. We will utilize the results of your research in our activities.
