At the symposium we had the opportunity to learn about the activities and initiatives of geoparks all around the Asia Pacific region, as well as to share about our own geopark. We also discussed plans to strengthen the Asia Pacific Geoparks Network and possibilities for future networking activities.

This year drew focus on topics like “Empowering Local Social Economic Sustainable Development”, “Communicating Geoparks, Geosites, and Geotourism”, and “Popularising Scientific Knowledge for Public Education”.
Of course, as all this networking took place we also got to explore the breath-taking geography and scenery of the Zhijindong Cave UNESCO Global Geopark. Thank you to the hosts for organising this wonderful event, and for welcoming us to your geopark!
