【Travelling Exhibit Around the Four Oki Islands】Earth Time Journey
Earth Time Journey, an exhibit by the Japanese Geoparks Network that is currently travelling around Japan, will also be visiting the Oki Islands.
Explore a story of earth-wide proportions hidden just out of sight through rocks, pictures, and information panels gathered from geoparks around Japan. You might even gain a new perspective on some familiar scenery.
Jade from Itoigawa, olivine from Mt. Apoi, and amber from Chōshi are just a few of over twenty kinds of rocks and fossils that will be on display.
There will also be original exhibits unique to the Oki Islands, such as a hands-on encounter with Oki gneiss and specimens of creatures from the islands.
