Participation in National Japanese Geoparks Conference in Kanto

From October 27–October 29, 2023, Oki Islands Geopark participated in the National Geoparks Conference that took place in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture. 

In cooperation with Shimonita Geopark, which was involved as the hosting bloc, Oki Islands Geopark planned and conducted “The Issue of River and Marine Debris Considered From a Geopark Perspective” breakout session. Furthermore, Shimane Prefectural Oki High School has actively participated in the National Conference in recent years through presentations on case studies. 

Also participating this year was WAIRA ACT, the new senior high school club for students across the four islands.
