Oki-matsuge Blenny

This fish is a species of blenny which was not listed in Japanese fish encyclopedias until recently. It was discovered and gathered in the Oki Islands in 2010, and was given the Japanese name Oki-matsuge because it has a transparent skin flap that resembles eyelashes (matsuge in Japanese). It is one of few fish species with the name "Oki." The fish is only 5 cm in length and dwells in rocky areas. Its body color varies from orange to red.
