Unique Ecosystem - Animals
This endemic Oki species is a subspecies of the Tago frog (Rana tagoi), which is endemic to Japan. It ranges from 3.8–5.3 cm long, with a narrow body width, long, slender limbs, and a rounded rostrum (the protruding part around the mouth area). It is carnivorous, feeding on insects, spiders, and worms. Its breeding season is from February through March.
